Are you a bocce fanatic? Love local food and drink? Great music? How about connecting with all your favorite co-operators from across the country? Then you’ll love CCMA’s Saturday Night Closing Party, June 11, 2016 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm, at the Fine Arts Center at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA in the heart of “Co-op Valley!”
The Neighboring Food Co-op Association (NFCA), Franklin Community Co-op, River Valley Co-op and NFCA local member co-ops are happy to be your hosts, with the support of all of our sponsoring partners including these Premier Sponsors:
The party will feature great local food from our member food co-ops and partners, a Make Your Own Sunday Station (featuring Bart’s Homemade Ice Cream, the NFCA’s Northeast Grown Blueberries, Equal Exchange fairly traded chocolate, and pecans from the Federation of Southern Co-operatives), lawn games, and lots of time for networking.
THE PANGEANS will be playing until the party wraps up, so bring your dancing shoes! THE PANGEANS are a group of seven musicians performing Latin Jazz, Samba, Calypso, Soca, Reggae, Funk and Afro-Beat. The group performs original compositions based on traditional rhythms as well as compositions by Abdullah Ibrahim (Dollar Brand), Herbie Hancock, Fela Kuti and others. If you like to dance and/or listen to World Music, you’ll love THE PANGEANS!
Local musicians Mary Fraser, Marko Packard, and Marco DePaolis will also be adding New England tunes to the party on fiddle, guitar and banjo playing American old-time, New England, and Celtic tunes.
Special thanks to all of our Co-op Valley Reception Sponsors!
