Wild Oats Market is an independent, community-owned grocery store that has dedicated itself to serving the health and wellness of its Berkshire neighbors for the past 40 years. We are seeking a seasoned Prepared Foods Manager to run our growing and thriving deli and bakery. Our community relies on us to provide fresh, healthy, and delicious daily offerings.
The right candidate will be familiar with natural foods and comfortable developing recipes and planning menus with vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as meat based dishes. Familiarity with principles of nutrition and issues around special dietary needs and food intolerances are important as well.
Responsibilities include meeting financial metrics for sales growth, margins, and labor. The applicant must be able to develop and maintain systems for excellent customer service, recipe/product creation, ordering, production, scheduling, training, and managing teammates in line with the General Manager’s expectations. Professional food service experience as well as supervisory experience is required. Facility with data analysis, costing and pricing, and ability to work with spreadsheets is critical. Strong written and spoken communications skills are also key. While facility with culinary skills and pastry arts are important, this position is primarily managerial and administrative.
This is primarily a day shift position with one evening shift per week. Applicants should be prepared to work at least one weekend day if/when required.
Five years of Food Service Management is preferred. This exempt position reports directly to the General Manager.
